Our Unique Approach
Whether you’ve just purchased your first home, are looking for ways to personalize your rental, or seeking to refresh the feel of a space you’ve been in for years, McGettigan Design can help you feel more connected to your home.
Leveraging tools that can connect us from anywhere, we have developed a unique design process that meets each client’s needs on their own terms, with an emphasis on personal connection and collaboration.
Our concept-driven approach to design focuses not on trends or narrowly defined design styles, but on each client’s personal style, way of living and goals for the space. Paired with a strong understanding of spatial relationships and how people move through and use space, we deliver a design plan that marries style and function to serve the unique needs of each client and space.

After an initial consultation, you’ll complete our comprehensive Style Survey.
We’ll discuss your style and preferences, as well as the functional needs for the spaces we’re designing.
You’ll take photos and videos of the space and provide measurements. We make that easy by providing a floor plan template and measuring instructions.

With an understanding of your space, style and needs, we will get to work on a design concept. During design development, we will connect 2-3 times via video chat to review ideas and ensure alignment.
We will then deliver a complete design concept; including floor plans, furniture selections, a lighting plan, finish recommendations, and everything else you’ll need to bring our vision to life.

We will customize an implementation timeline for the project, and remain involved to support you through at each step of the ordering, delivery, installation, and styling processes.

Pricing
Following an initial consultation, Patrick will develop a customized scope of work and timeline that meet your needs. The Design Fee will be determined at this stage, and varies depending on project’s requirements, scale, and timeline.
Pricing is set based upon the project type, with established minimums as follows.

Meet Patrick
While on paternity leave during the height of the pandemic, Patrick decided to leave his career in non-profit fundraising and pursue his lifelong passion for interior design. He completed the Creative Interiors Certificate at the Pratt Institute, and launched McGettigan Design in 2024.
Patrick is passionate about helping people live beautifully in spaces that feel personal and inspirational; and designs with the personal attention and thoughtfulness that you’d expect from a trusted friend.
